Course Description
Course participants encompass all levels of EMS professionals, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse anesthetists and physicians. This diversity enhances the team approach to patient care.
AMLS is a program that consists of interactive lectures, teaching and evaluation stations. The interactive/case based lectures include the following topics: Patient Assessment, Airway Management, , Assessment of the Shock Patient, Dyspnea/Respiratory Failure, Chest Pain, altered Mental Status, and Abdominal Pain. Teaching stations follow the associated lectures each day.
Course Length: 16 hours
Successful completion: of the course entails attendance both days, proficiency in the 4 evaluation stations (Hypoperfusion, Dyspnea/Respiratory Failure; Chest Pain and Abdominal/GI Bleed Scenarios. In addition, there is a post-test written examination where an 74% is required.
